1 – Customised Views

Users may add, remove and re-order the columns which are displayed in the Flange Register by using the Register Settings.

Click on the Register Settings icon in the main menu.

The left-hand column “Available Fields” lists the register fields which are currently not displaying in the register, while the right-hand column lists the “Selected Fields” which are currently displaying in the flange register.

To move fields from Available list to the Selected list scroll for the required field and click the right arrow button. The user in the image below has located the Bolt Size field and is moving it to the Selected Fields column by clicking the Transfer To arrow.

Users can move Selected Fields by clicking and dragging them up and down the list, or by using the UP and DOWN arrow keys on the far-right hand side, as in the image below.

Once the user has configured the Selected Fields column as required, click the Apply button to close the Register Settings. The Flange Register column will reflect the column arrangements.

1.1 – Search Bar

The Search bar in the Register Settings window can be used to filter the Available Fields column. This makes finding fields much easier.

In the example below, the user is searching for all fields containing the word “Torque”.

From this point they may move and re-order the field in the Selected Fields column and click Apply.

1.2 – Custom Fields

Click the Custom Fields icon to create and manage Custom Fields.

Create new Custom Fields and click Add to add them to the Custom Fields list.

To edit an existing custom field from the list, select the field and make a change and click Modify.

Click OK to save Custom Field additions and changes.

Now if the user searches the Available fields list, the new Custom Fields will display along with the standard fields.

Move and re-order them in the Selected Fields list so that they display in the register as a column.

2 – Copy Flange

To create a copy of an existing flange, select the flange in the register and click the Copy Flange icon.

This will open the flange form of the selected flange.

If the Autogenerated Flange No. Format preference has not been defined in the Project Preferences, the joint ID field will be empty, as shown below. The user should then enter a Joint ID for the new flange.

However if the Autogenerated Flange No. Format has been defined, the Joint ID field will display the next ID in the sequence.

Edit any flange details as required.

NOTE: This Copy Flange function also copies the flange specification and so if changes to the original specification, edit them also at this point and then save the new flange.

3 – Copy Specification

The specification of a flange can be copied onto another flange by using the Copy and Paste Specification functions.

Select a ‘source’ flange which has a full specification and click the Copy Specification option.

Next, move to a ‘destination’ flange in the register and click the Paste Specification option.

The flange register will perform an auto-refresh and the specification will have been pasted onto this destination flange.

To verify that the Paste Specification has worked properly, open the destination flange’s calculator (Edit Specification) and verify.

In the image below, the destination flange now has the same specification as the source flange.

The pasted specification will also be displaying on the right-hand-side Info panel as shown below.

4 – Single vs Bulk Edit
4.1 – Single Flange Editing

To edit a single flange simply select the flange and click the Edit flange icon.

The Edit Flange form will open. Make any changes to any of the fields and click Save to save and close the form.

4.2 – Bulk Edit

While flange details are often specified for individual flanges, the user may select multiple flanges together and ‘bulk-edit’ them in one operation. This can save the user much time and effort.

Click the checkboxes of multiple flanges and click the same Edit Flange icon.

The Edit Flanges window will now open, similar to as shown below.

To enable any field for editing, the user must select its adjacent checkbox. For example, to set the System, Sub-System and Line Number for the selected flanges, click the System checkbox and then select from the available dropdowns for the 3 FBS fields.

In this next example, the user has activated the P&ID Ref checkbox and so can now select a P&ID drawing to bulk-associate the selected flanges to.

Additionally, user-defined Custom Fields also display in the Edit Flanges window and so the user can define values to these fields too.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Take care when using this Bulk Edit form to make widespread changes to flanges. If some flanges already have values for fields, these will ALL be over-written by values the user selects when using the Bulk Edit form.

5 – Global Filter

The Global Filter at the top of the flange register is a powerful tool which can filter across all columns in the register.

Enter some text you wish to search for in the Filter box. The user in the example below has entered “FP”.

The Flange Register will automatically filter by the inputted values. As shown below, the register now only displays row which contain the characters “FP”.

As another example, the user below has entered 0.875 into the Global Filter. This has filtered the register across all columns for this value and so only flanges with a 0.875 value – for Bolt Size in this case – are filtered out and displayed.

To clear the Global Filter and re-display all flanges again, click the Clear Filter icon.

6 – Filters
6.1 – Sorting Columns

The Flange Register can be sorted and filtered by any of the columns using one or more column filters.

Click the column filters icons as shown in the below Joint Type example.

The Sort Ascending and Sort Descending options sort the selected column. An example of this could be to sort the flange register by ascending Bolt Size.

Click the Filter option to open the Boolean sub-window.

This filter sub-menu uses boolean statements and interacting operators to define more targeted search criteria. Some examples are given below.

Example 1: Filter the selected Joint ID column for values which contain the text ‘PR’ OR ‘FG’:

Example 2: Filter the Bolt Size column for sizes which contain a ‘5’ AND start with a ‘1’:

Example 3: Filter the Joint ID column for joints beginning with MN. Additionally, as in the image below, the user has selected the checkboxes of 5 specific joint IDs of interest.

Now when the Filter button is clicked, the register displays only those 5 flanges.

6.2.1 – Combining Filter Use

Users can filter by combinations of column filters also. In the example below, the user has set the Joint ID column to filter only joints beginning with ‘MN’, but also they have set the Flange Size filter to select only flanges of size 5 or 6.

To clear all filter expressions and re-display the full flange register, click the Clear buttons for all columns which have active filters applied.

7 – Pinning Columns

Flange Register columns can be excluded from horizontal scrolling by ‘pinning’ them to the left side of the WAPIV dividing line.

By default, the four WAPIV columns are excluded from horizontal scrolling, meaning that if the user scrolls left and right, these columns – highlighted below – remain permanently in place.

User can ‘pin’ additional columns to this section.

Click the ellipses ‘dots’ of a column to be pinned. This will open the column filter as shown.

Click Lock Column and it will immediately be moved into the left-hand side pinned column area.

Now if the user uses the horizontal scrollbar (highlighted below), the Status column will now remain in place.

Multiple columns can be pinned in this way. As illustrated below, Status, Work Order and PID Number columns are pinned, and therefore isolated from horizontal scrolling.

To unpin columns, re-open their column filters and click Unlock Column.

When un-pinned, the columns return to their original place in the register and they move when the user scrolls the register again.

8 – Export Register to Excel/PDF
8.1 – Export to Excel

The Export to Excel option will export a file containing the contents of the flange register which is currently displayed.

A browser window will open. Locate a suitable place to save the report.

Upon opening, the excel file will resemble to example below.

8.1.1 – Export All to Excel

This function behaves in the same way as the Export to Excel option, however this option exports all pages of the Flange Register, rather than only the page of flanges currently in view.

So this report could be extensive as a result, depending on the size of the database.

8.2 – Export to PDF

The Export to PDF option will export a file containing the contents of the flange register which is currently displayed.

A browser window will open. Locate a suitable place to save the report.

Upon opening, the PDF file will resemble to example below.

9 – Flange Information

The right-hand side Info Panel displays a comprehensive view of nearly all aspects of a selected flange.

There are 6 flange information tabs:
– Info tab: displays general details about the selected flange’s identification and it’s specification
– History tab: displays the operational activity of the flange to date
– Drawings tab: lists all drawing associated or marked-up with the selected flange
– Documents tab: lists all drawings associated with the selected flange
– Photos tab: lists all photos associated with the selected flange
– Memos tab: lists all voice memos associated with the selected flange. These will usually be recorded using Integrus Max installed on a tablet or other handheld device.

9.1 – Info Tab

This tab displays the general identification information regarding the flange and also it’s specification.

The info tab is subdivided into the following sections.

9.1.1 – Flange Details

This section displays the identification details of the flange and the Workpack it is in. It also displays it’s FBS information and the drawings with which it is associated.

9.1.2 – Custom Fields

This section will only contain some information if the flanges in the database have some custom fields defined by the user. Otherwise, this section will be empty.

9.1.3 – Flange Spec

The flange spec section displays the top-level joint information of the flange. The displayed fields are joint type, rating and size, along with the joint material.

9.1.4 – Bolt Spec

This section displays the size, quantity and material of the bolts and nuts of the flange specification.

9.1.5 – Gasket Spec

This section displays the gasket type and material. There is also the description field for user’s additional notes about the gasket.

9.1.6 – Tightening Parameters
9.1.6.1 – Torque Parameters

If the selected flange has a torque tightening specification, the torque tool information is displayed here. Torque specifications include the lubricant and its friction co-efficient.

If the selected flange has been configured with a tension tightening specification, the tension tool details will be displayed instead.

9.1.7 – Comments & Work Instructions

The final fields in the Info tab display the general Comments and Work Instruction. These are taken from the flange form as shown below.

9.2 – History Tab

The flange history tab displays both the flange activities and the operational activities that have been carried out on the flange to date.

When a flange is created and given a bolting specification, these flange activities are displayed as shown below. The date of the activity is recorded alongside them.

Operational activities are recorded in the same frame. The flange in the example below has had a Disassemble, Assemble and a Torque activity carried out upon it.

Clicking any of the flange or operational activities will display the details of the activity in the pane below where users can inspect them.

In the image below, the user is inspecting the specification which has been added to the flange. The Activity log records the User who logged the activity, the Date and whether there was any anomaly recorded during the activity.

In this second image below, the user is inspecting an Assemble operational activity.

Integrus Max has a setting within the Project Preferences which, if set to TRUE, allows the user to edit historical operational flange activities.

To do this, open the Project Preferences and check the Allow Edit Historical Activities preference and save this selection.

With this preference selected, the user may click the Edit icon for any operational activity and edit it.

9.3 – Drawings Tab

The Drawings tab lists the drawings which the selected flange is associates with.

Drawings can appear in this list if they have been selected in the flange form or if they are physically marked-up on a drawing.

9.3.1 – Simply Associated Drawings

To simply-associate an ISO (Isometric) or a P&ID drawing to a flange, select a flange and open its flange form.

In the example below, PID-XY-ERW-004 is being selected as the PID drawing for a flange.

Once the user clicks Save, the flange form closes and the PID displays in the Drawings tab.

Drawings all types PID and ISO can be associated with a flange in this way.

9.3.2 – Using the Add Drawing Icon

The Add Drawing icon can also be used to simply-associate drawings to a flange.

Click the Add icon, select a PID or ISO drawing and the drawing will display in the list.

Drawings of type ‘Other’ can also be associated to flanges in this way.

NOTE: a flange may only be associated with 1-off ISO drawings and 1-off PID drawings. Any subsequent additions will replace existing Iso’s/PID drawings.

For example, if a flange is already associated with one ISO drawing and the Add drawing function is used to add another ISO drawing, this new ISO will replace the first ISO.

9.3.3 – Marking Up Flange Tags on Installation Drawings

The more ‘complete’ way to associate flanges with drawings is to mark up the flange on an installation drawing.

In the below example, the user has opened an installation drawing PID-XY-ERW-006 in edit mode and marked up the flange tag of interest.

Now, selecting with the flange PR-6436A/09 in the flange register will display this drawing in the Drawings tab.

9.3.4 – Drawings Tab Options

There are drawing View and also drawing Export icons available in the Drawings tab. If the user selects a drawing, these icons become available.

Autozoom will automatically zoom-in on the portion of the drawing where the currently-selected flange has been marked up.

If the user un-checks the Autozoom box, the entire drawing will display in the drawings tab, rather than the Auto-zoomed portion containing the flange tag.

Zoom to Selected will zoom in on the flange which is currently-selected in the register, making it much quicker for the user to find it on the drawing.

The Export Drawing option allows the user to export the drawing either with or without the drawing markups.

Lastly, the Overlays panel can be used to display and hide markups from selected Service Lines and Workpacks.

9.4 – Documents Tab

The Flange Documents tab is the next tab. It lists the various documents which the flange is associated with.

Documents can be associated to flanges in any of 3 ways:
REFERENCE: documents which are simply-associated to a flange using Add Document icon
ACTIVITY: documents added to the flange(s) during an activity cycle
PHOTO: image files which are added as Photos are also added to the Documents tab

9.4.1 – Reference Documents

To create a simple Reference document, select a flange in the register and click the Add icon which will open the Select Document window.

Select a required document from the list and click Select. The document will be added to the documents list as a Reference document, as shown below.

9.4.2 – Activity Documents

To create an activity document, select a flange(s) and begin an activity cycle. For the activity you wish to add a document to, click the Add Document button.

In the below Disassemble activity, the user has clicked Add Document and they are selecting a document from the list.

Multiple document files can be uploaded against a single activity, one after the other.

Once the activity cycle is completed, the Documents tab will update to display the added file(s).

9.4.3 – Photos as Documents

Any photo file (jpeg, png file) which is added to the Photos tab is also added to the Documents tab automatically.

Below, the user has simply-added a photo to this flange by using the Add Photo icon.

Subsequently switching to the Documents tab will show the same file also recorded as a Document file.

NOTE: If the user removes (deletes) this file from the Documents tab it will also be deleted from the Photos tab

9.5 – Photos Tab

Photos can be linked to flanges either by being ‘simply-associated’ to a flange, or they can be uploaded against a flange(s) during an activity cycle.

Supported file formats for photos include the most commonly used jpeg, pgn, giff etc.

To view the photos which are linked to a selected flange, navigate to the right-hand side tabs and click the Photos tab. (It may be necessary to click the left/right arrow icons to move to Photos tab into view.)

9.5.1 – Simply Associate an Existing Photo File to a Flange

Single-click to select the flange in the flange register and the photos tab will display the details of any photos already associated.

The flange in this example below has no photos at present and therefore it currently displays ‘No records available’.

Click the Add icon which opens the Select Photo window.

The photos displayed here are already saved for the project.

Click on the required photo and click Select. The photo is now simply-associated with the flange and will display in the photos list.

If the user clicks on the drawing information, a thumbnail of the drawing displays below the list.

Add more simply-associated photos as required.

(If the user wishes to upload new photos to the Select Photo window’s list, they can press the Add New button as highlighted in the image below. This opens the Add Photo dialog from which the user can upload a new photo in to the Select Photo list above.)

9.5.2 – Delete a Photo

To delete a photo, select it from the list and click the Remove icon.

NOTE: the photo will be deleted immediately from the Photos list.

Photos can be opened in a separate standalone window by selecting the photo and clicking on the Open icon.

9.5.4 – Upload Photos During a Flange Operational Activity

Photos can be added to specific activities during operational activity cycle.

In the example below, the user is uploading a photo file to a Inspect activity by clicking the Upload Photo button, browsing and selecting a photo file.

Any number of photos can be uploaded to an activity. Image below shows 3 photos now uploaded against the same Inspect activity.

View any photos on the photo ‘carousel’ by clicking the left/right arrows or clicking the photo thumbnails.

To remove a selected photo from the carousel, click the Remove Photo button and the photo will be deleted immediately.

Any number of photos can be added to separate activities in an activity cycle. Upon clicking Complete Activity, the activities window will close, and all photos added will display in the photos tab list.

9.6 – Memos Tab

Voice memos are typically recorded using the software installed on a mobile handheld device.

While a technician or other user is carrying out flange activities, they can record a voice memo which will be stored against the specific activity.

The voice memo can then be played back either on the handheld device, or on uploaded via Server Synchronisation and played on desktop or laptop devices.
